We are stopping TB. This blog is writing to communicate to other bloggers, those with TB, individuals with HIV, healthy individuals, those in wellness programs and readers of this blog information about TB, and how to prevent it.
How can T
B be improved?
By communicating to all, the risk factors, the outcomes if untreated and the preventive actions, we can stop TB. By keeping TB information current through blogs, social communities and health information websites we can stop TB.
Public Health Actions- HIV and tuberculosis combination is deadly, each worsening the other. HIV infected individuals are a high risk group with many living unaware of the impact of HIV on tuberculosis. By making TB services, treatment and education avaliable to them we can control tuberculosis. The actions of local communities must address the needs of HIV individuals in their community, making treatment and diagnosis a piority.
Medication & Drugs- Some tuberculosis cases are drug resistant placing everyone at risk, action is required now to address those cases. Research and funding for new vaccines, new drugs and alternative treatment are needed to stop TB.
